Your PC receives "file missing" problem, maybe some files are not copied successfully or your computer hard disk has bad sectors when you install the Windows XP system. Additional, if your computer hardware has the compatibility issues, it will cause the blue screen/crash problems. First, you should check the CD-ROM and system installation CD problems, try following steps:

1. Check the CD-ROM and system installation CD by yourself, no problems.

2. Re-install XP system, and haven't seen "Can not read file" message. Test it after re-installation, the problem is still there.

3.
Maybe your PC hard disk has bad sectors, start the computer with the XP installation CD, after entering the installation screen > press "R" key > then choose "1" > input the password during installation > into the "C:\Windows" Prompt.

4. Direct input "chkdsk C: \r" command, press "Enter" key to test of the disk, find bad sectors at the testing, recover readable information, input the "exit" command and press "Enter" key to exit when it's finished.

5. Reboot your computer and testing, the file missing error message disappears.
