  Installing language packs affects large areas of the operating system and can take up to several hours, depending on the number of language packs that you've selected. We recommend installing only the language packs that you want to use, installing them when you're not using the computer for other activities, and closing any open programs before you begin.
  
  To install language files
  
  1. Restart the computer.
  
  2. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
  
  3. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
  
  4. If you see a message telling you that important updates are available, or that optional updates are available, click either of the messages to view and select the updates to install.
  
  5. Select the language pack that you want to install, click OK, and then click Install updates. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
